Nothing Haiku

The Winter
I moved to the UK from a warm South Africa fifteen years ago and am still trying to adapt to the cold winters here. I got into my car yesterday and noticed the temperature reading was 0. Nothing! Zero! Not a sausage (as they would say here in the UK). It struck me as rather comical and inspired a haiku.
icy conundrum
nothing should feel like nothing
not extremely cold

Love the haiku. Especially when it is -3F here today.
Brrrrrr!
Growing up in Alaska 0° C (32° F) was warm! It's all relative. To put it into perspective, real nothing would be ?273.15 °C, so be happy! :) I loved the haiku, by the way. Voted up!
Very clever! Love the photos.
Have a good weekend and stay warm. :-)
That should have read -273.15° C!
Good Morning Russ....Your short, sweet, and stimulating haiku awoke several images at once within me...
Philosophically, consider that nothing is something simply by being nothing...Keats gave nothing substance when he wrote " When I have fears that I may cease to be " and said at the end of that poem " Then on the shore of the wide, wide world, I shall sit and think...till Love and Fame to nothingness doth sink "...
Cold, cruel comfort offered by nothing for nothing...we are quite unable to ignore such, are we.?
Take care, my friend, and bask in the warmth of appreciative fellow Hubbers that enjoy your work and your singular humor...Larry
Hi Russ-
I enjoyed your clever wit here. Wonderful haiku!

Hey... not to quibble but -20C is just a tad colder than -3F.
Another evocative expression that even sounds cold in the word sounds you chose!! I really like the second line as it takes me off to explore other ideas--something to dwell on. Thank you.
Just for the record--we had -13C yesterday! I am not even looking today!
Not sure about cold is cold 'cause -3F is cold but -25F with windchills of -50F is freaking insane cold. Your spit freezes before it hits the sidewalk cold! You can feel the inner lining of your nose cold. Horribly horribly cold. But I get what your saying! :-)
Very nice poem. I can't imagine what 0 degrees feels like. We're having wonderful weather here in WA. Wishing warm weather your way.
Stay warm! It is amazing how life inspires art. I enjoyed your haiku and the story of your move as well.
Great haiku. I know the feeling having experienced Michigan winters. Warm wishes.
You might as easily have said that the essence of haiku is art inspiring life, Great observation about zero and nothing. Voted up and awesome. Following.
