George Harrison wrote, ‘Here comes the sun’ at Eric Clapton's Hurtwood Edge House in the UK. This meant a lot more to me when I came to live in the United Kingdom. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the grey winter that seems to permeate the British culture. But I know that I will never tire of the wonderful excitement that stretches for a while, providing colourful bright promise - Spring. Little darling, it's been a long, cold, lonely winter.

as the weather turns

snowdrops the promise of spring

in february

the promise of spring

flowers colouring the path

towards a new day

overwhelming joy

colours and light evoking

spring is on the way

this concept called time

it sneaks up in a minute

as your life ticks by

clouds surround my heart

seasons come and pass on by

empty without you

awakening world

beautiful twilight shadows

early morning treat

many years gone by

seems like only yesterday

a long time ago

the turtle dove sings

good morning good morning Russ

I rise happily

cows in the butter

amongst yellow in the field

the season’s flowers

petals silky white

you flower in my morning

sunshine in my night

his mind is now calm

yellow orange marigolds

he has walked through peace

Ah, Russ! What a beautiful collection of Haiku and pix. Spring is a wonderful time of year in most parts of the world, I think. The promise of a new beginning, "flowers colouring the path." So beautiful, my friend. And we are just about to get into autumn here.

Thanks so much for brightening up my evening as I prepare for bed.

Love and peace

Tony

Russ - Delightful, I must say. One of the nicest Haiku's I have seen yet and the pictures are absolutely breathtaking. Very nicely done.

Howzit Tony, thank you. I get really motivated when the days get longer. One of the things that keeps me sane during the grey time(this sounds crazy), is that I fly to places like Glasgow, Belfast, Manchester etc. on business and am always comforted as soon as we get above the clouds - the sun is always shining and the sky is always blue.Go well my friend. Love, Russ

Beautiful poetic imagery complimented by well-chosen stills that relate perfectly with the words...A Victorian critic, Bagehot, has said that poetry should be brief, memorable, intense, and soon over...Haiku does exactly this, and you, my talented friend, are its master...My favorite:

" petals silky white

you flower in my morning

sunshine in my night ".

What a lovely thought to take to bed at night...Thank you, Larry
