Haiku Christmas
47
Thought I'd let a few haiku come out of the weather.
white dog swallowed up
identified by his leash
dragging in the snow
christmas fantasy
everything a fairy tale
through the falling snow
slush and slippery
spending my Christmas inside
on the motorway
christmas lights flashing
through the haze of falling snow
families at home
Russ, great Haiku. Bless you and your family during this white beautiful season, Christmas and New Year.
Love your verses. Vladimir.
Lovely haiku...Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Keep that poetry coming in 2010 please.
You certainly captured the essence of Christmas and snowy winters here, Russ. I really enjoyed both the haikus and the pictures. Thanks!
Have a Merry Christmas!
Beautiful pictures and haiku. Thank you
Hi Russ, really like the white dog in snow one and the last piture of the tree is a great image. Hope you have a godd New Year.
Russ - you are a magician! Thanks for these wonderful, crisp little poems. Sitting here in sweltering Pretoria I feel we could use some snow - dis blerrie warm hierso, man! And maybe you could use some of the warmth, huh? (Couldn't let a Yank be the only one to leave a comment in Afrikaans now, could I? Wonder where Larry got it from?)
Anyway - warm wishes to you as the New Year comes close!
Love and peace
Tony
I miss the snow.... Your haiku was very nice. Thanks, JM
Loved your Christmas haikus - so simple, yet so deep...

Russ...Lovely snapshots writ crisp and pure, much like the snow described...Thank you..
I wonder why we associate snow with fantasy, family, and frivolity..? Partly, I think, because it changes our secure, snug little worlds into something magical, different, yet somehow comforting...I'm wishing you and yours a very Merry and White Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year... Geseende Kersfees, my friend...Larry
