By Russ Baleson

Inspired mostly by Basho, Buson, Issa and especially my hub-friends, here are a few more of my offerings.

moving through my day

and then I remember you

a smile on my face

a beautiful world

everyone has a tough time

seems contradictory

in a timeless space

beyond all consequences

i want to be there

not grasping my life

getting old before my time

what time do you have

watching from the shore

she’s struggling to stay afloat

an attacking swan

nature’s memory

you won’t forget the brush past

the stinging nettles

listening to music

flowing within me and out

part of nature’s grace.

relaxing muscles

letting go the only way

cope with emotion

tell me a story

make it big and compact too

say it in haiku

letting them come through

stories running through my mind

i will tell you soon

evening comes on fast

have I been this way before

lost in the forest

it’s autumn again

leaves blowing across my feet

wonderful colours

Hi, thanks poetlorraine. I don't think it takes practice. Learn the format and then follow your instincts. I find that if you try and write haiku, it feels empty. Just do it. Russ

Languid and flowing , painting such beautiful images with your haiku, and then complimenting the words with pictures...( I loved the swan haiku and pic )...Thanks, Larry
